Silk Is For Seduction - Loretta Chase At Peter's request, I read him a romance novel. He said he wanted to read a "Fabio romance--long hair and horseback riding." This particular book didn't quite deliver on those fronts but it was good fun nonetheless. It was my first introduction to the genre. I had really low expectations, since romance is a much maligned genre, but you know--it surprised me. Yes, it's true, groins seemed to be separate characters, and yes, there was an overabundance of physical and physiological descriptions, and yes, there were completely corny hilarious lines. But it was ultimately a very satisfying read. If all romances are this good, I can maybe sort of begin to understand why over half of all paperback books sold in the US are genre romances (though honestly I still think that statistic is kind of atrocious)...
