Beautiful Ruins: A Novel - Jess Walter So I really liked this book. I saw it at the library, remembered seeing a favorable review from one of my friends on Goodreads and thought, "Sure why not?" And I was certainly not disappointed.

It didn't really bowl me over with its spectacularity, but it was definitely well-written and it did seem quite effortless--how the author accomplishes character development in just a sentence or two I don't know. But he does.

I was about 2/3rds of the way through the book when I realized what a fitting title it was.

Bittersweet and satisfying :) Would read it again
