It's probably more like 4.5 stars, but it was really good. I was more interested in the Hmong struggle in Laos & Thailand, which she does cover but it's less than half the book. It was a great story of one family though, and it was a quick read because it was so interesting and--well I wouldn't say it was a "fun" read or even "enjoyable" (I don't really think you could apply those words), but it was engaging and it kept me wanting to read more. Makes me want to read a nonfiction account, more details on how the US actually used the Hmong for our convoluted purposes.
